Experience World Heritage-listed K’gari on an unforgettable 2-day 4WD adventure from Hervey Bay. Follow your experienced guide in a convoy of our iconic pink 4WDs as you explore ancient rainforest, freshwater lakes, beaches and some of K’gari’s most famous natural attractions.

Eligible guests can take turns behind the wheel and experience the thrill of driving a 4WD along K’gari’s beaches and sandy island tracks — no previous 4WD experience is required. Prefer to sit back and enjoy the scenery? You can join the adventure as a passenger too.

And when the day’s exploring is over, there’s no tent to pitch. Head to our private beach house on K’gari’s eastern side, enjoy a hot shower, freshly prepared dinner and a relaxed evening with your fellow travellers.

• Drive one of our iconic pink 4WDs – eligible guests can take turns driving as part of the guided convoy.
• Swim at Boorangoora (Lake McKenzie) – crystal-clear freshwater surrounded by brilliant white silica sand.
• Float down Eli Creek – grab a tube or simply wade through the cool freshwater as it flows towards the ocean.
• Explore 75 Mile Beach – experience K’gari’s incredible beach highway by 4WD.
• Discover the Maheno Shipwreck – one of K’gari’s most recognisable landmarks and a great photo stop.
• Walk beneath ancient rainforest – explore Central Station and the magnificent Pile Valley rainforest.
• Discover K’gari’s lakes and landscapes – depending on track, tide and island conditions, your adventure may also include Lake Birrabeen or a walk across the dunes to Lake Wabby.
• Stay overnight on K’gari – relax in our private beach house at Eurong on K’gari’s eastern side.

What you need to know about our 2 Day K’gari 4WD Beach House Adventure

• 2 days and 1 night on K’gari, departing from Hervey Bay.
• Experienced, knowledgeable lead guide throughout your adventure.
• Private beach house accommodation at Eurong on K’gari’s eastern side, with comfortable quad-share rooms, bed linen, toilets and hot showers.
• Drive or ride – eligible guests can take turns driving our 4WDs, or you can enjoy the entire adventure as a passenger.
• No previous 4WD experience required – a comprehensive driver and safety briefing is provided before departure.
• Meals included – 2 lunches, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast and snacks. Dietary requirements can be catered for on request.
• Return ferry transfers and island access permits included.
• Free pick-ups available from selected Hervey Bay hostels from 7:00 am, or meet at our Hervey Bay office at 7:15 am.
• Driver safety briefing begins at 7:30 am on the morning of departure.
• Tour returns to Hervey Bay at approximately 6:00–6:15 pm on Day 2.
• Free street parking is available while you are away, with secure parking available for a daily fee.
• Luggage storage can be arranged – $10 for small luggage and $20 for large luggage.
• Recommended for guests aged 18+. Please contact our team before booking if travelling with anyone under 18.

Important itinerary information

K’gari is a natural environment and every adventure is a little different. Itineraries may change due to tides, weather, track conditions, access closures or other unforeseen circumstances. Your guide may amend the itinerary where required for passenger safety and comfort.

Minimum numbers are required for departure, and all participants must reconfirm their booking via the waiver link by 9:30 am on the day before departure. Full terms and conditions apply.

What do I need to drive on the tour?

Want to get behind the wheel? Eligible guests can take turns driving one of our 4WDs while following the lead guide as part of the convoy.

To drive, you must:

• Be 21 years or older.
• Hold a current full driver’s licence for a minimum of 2 years.
• Have a credit or debit card available for the $2,500 security bond.
• Have an intermediate level of English so you can understand and communicate important driving and safety instructions from your guide.

Want to reduce your excess? Eligible guests can reduce the excess to $0 for $50 per person, with no bond hold required. Terms and conditions apply.

You don’t have to drive to join the adventure — passengers are very welcome.
